Boring Workouts

I am not really big on going to the gym, but I do enjoy being active.  I find that I tend to bore easily with workouts and gym regimens…translation being that I may drag myself to a gym for a week or two tops, but I soon burn out of the routine and do not return for at least a month or more.  

I find what works best for me is an ever changing activity, hobby or sport. I loved to run, but I also find myself biking more and more (even in the hot weather).  In addition to biking and running trails on/off road, I try to take advantage of nearby lakes, pools, rivers and the ocean for swimming, canoeing, and surfing. Just take your pick.  

If solo activities are not your thing, wherever you live, there is a possibility you are never far away from a baseball field, soccer field (perfect for Frisbee golf, flag football and kick ball), basketball or tennis court.

I find that being healthy is not about being a gym junkie, but rather engaging in activities that excite me and make me feel good.   Turning exercise from a “to-do” list chore into an activity or social event to highlight on the calendar keeps us motivated, interested and, of course, healthy!
